I feel like I've been MIA and I apologize for my absence. I have been battling a virus for a while and I'm trying to find a miracle cure so I can ski Keystone this week. My throat is sore, my eyes inflamed and I am really lethargic. In fact, I have been feeling out of sorts on some level for about 21 days.
Coincidentally, it is January 21st.
Do you think 2009 is trying to tell me something?
Twitter and the blogosphere have been all abuzz with inaugural observations. I have been greatly amused that many think they are experts on all things political. Some are right on the mark. Others sound like The National Enquirer is feeding them information.
Let us all learn the dangers of this. It is tradition for my entire family to go out to eat Chinese food together when I am in Canada. During one of these recent dinners, my brother jokingly made a snide comment to his wife Jane to which she responded,

"Don't you remember Amy saying last night at the company party that you need to appreciate me more because I am the most wonderful, perfect wife in the world?"
"Didn't Amy also get totally wasted and throw up last night?
Touché.
Touché.

I do have a tea recipe that helps in cases like yours. You have to have a strong stomach though...
If you want to give it a shot:
1 1/2 cups of water;
1 clove of peeled garlic;
The peel of 1 onion;
3 cloves;
ground cinammon;
1 sliced lemon;
honey to taste.
Bring all this ingredients to a boil and let it simmer for 10/15 minutes. Let it cool and (I am missing the English word right now), but take all the ingridients out of the liquid and make it looks like a tea... and drink it.
Since I am a huge fan of natural medicines... When I have something like a flu I drink this, instead of over the counter medication.
I hope you feel better soon!!!!
Fabiola
I hope you feel better quickly! The mountain snow should be great this weekend.
Leave it to the guy to remember that little piece of information. :) I hope y'all get to feeling better soon.
Sorry you are sick.
You make me laugh, "sound like the National Enquirer is feeding them information". I couldn't get over all the coverage about porta-potties.
Amen!
Good point! Although, I can't help but feel some of that contagious optimism of this new administration!!
I hope you get to feeling better soon!
Ah... I love political "experts". The self made ones are the best... especially if you need a good laugh!
And you're right about checking your sources... I wish all my friends that sent me crazy virus warning emails would do that.
I just want to be optimistic--I feel I must have hope.
Speaking of hope--hope you are feeling better soon.
Chinese food. Mmmmmmm. I had some for breakfast and it was just what the doctor ordered (I self medicate, obviously)
Bummer that you are feeling crummy. I'll bet you'll kick it in time for your ski trip. If not, you'll fake your way through right?
I'm sorry that you're not feeling well and hope that you make to the slopes, in time. Stay warm.
You know, I had that same virus. I was lethargic and had a head cold for weeks. Turned out I was pregnant. ;)
Hope you feel better! We want to see skiing videos of you!
Feel better soon! A ski trip from you could only result in a good story of some sort!
Seems like you've had more than your share of the germs lately my friend. I hope you get disinfected very soon.
Hope you feel better soon! Oh, & you're right about all the crazy political experts out there.
If I were your neighbor I'd be on the doorstep with chicken noodle soup! (((HUGS))) Now shake this thing already! ;)
