So, we survived Spring Break. Barely. Two Snow Days + Seven Days of Spring Break = One Tired Mama. The weather was chilly so we tried to keep busy indoors by decorating Easter eggs, having playdates, going swimming, watching the cliff divers at Casa Bonita, and discovering THE COOLEST story time ever with a toy library and hilarious librarian performer. All in all, not a bad week.
My dear friend Isabelle is arriving from France this week and we will be swept up in a whirlwind of taking in all that Colorado has to offer. And stuffing ourselves silly with all that glorious European chocolate she has brought with her.
Just remember: Friends Bring Friends Chocolate.

I attended a social media class last weekend held by the lovely Beckie of Tech Talk for Moms. It was a great class to remind me that I have dropped the ball in so many areas when it comes to this blog. And so after the inception of this blog 25 years ago, I finally added a Share Button that enables folks to StumbleUpon, Tweet, Digg, etc. after each post. I also added a subscribe button to my right-hand sidebar. If you don't do RSS Feeds, I also included a box for folks to receive a notice via email whenever I post.
That way, you won't lose sleep thinking you missed something I wrote. I know I do.
:-)

On the last night of Spring Break, Hadley stole a cucumber from the fridge. Yes, you heard correctly. And she took it upstairs to swing it as a bat at Bode, who was substituting as the ball.
He does have a really round head.
Jamie eventually told her to take it back down to the fridge. She refused.
"Hadley, I said please put it away."
"Can't do it, Daddy. You need to do it for me."
"I will not do it for you. I wasn't the one who got it out."
"And that's why you should do it. I got it out--you put it away. You know: taking turns!"

Hadley you are a smart chickie! You'll go far :)
Oh taking turns. I wonder if I can use that on my husband sometime. 'See I made the house dirty now it is your turn to put everything away' well it was worth dreaming about for a second. Oh how I miss Casa Bonita and it's bad tasting food, excluding the soapapias of course!
Cute. Enjoy the visit and the chocolate. Always fun showing someone else around town.
Oh my goodness kids are a riot. LOL!!!
My kids seem to have the same theory about taking turns when it comes to cleaning!
Enjoy that yummy European chocolate!
Her and Emma and SUCH kindred spirits. My goodness.
Happy chocolate scarfing!
Too funny about the turns thing... and thank you for adding the email subscribing option... I have you saved on my favs in my dashboard.. so I can see updates... but it is SOO much easier to have it delivered to my email inbox.. lol... So thank you!!!
Have fun with your chocolate!! =)
Have fun with your friend!
Yay for surviving Spring Break - sounds like a great time!
...that Hadley... she's a smart one.
That's what you get for teaching her how to share..LOL
Glad you survived Spring Break.
ha--love the sharing lesson!!! AND that's some great creativity skills, using a cucumber as a bat? love it.
LOL! Hadley needs to come and teach my hubby all about sharing. She's got more than a bunch of rocks up there. lol. And mmmmmmm, European chocolate. Wanna come visit? :)
Amber,
Thanks for your comment on my blog. Yes, please include me on the MHM blog roll! I look forward to interacting on the site and learning from other mamas.

She's learned about taking turns, that's a good thing!
We're having trouble explaining that concept to only-child Kiddo. Whenever Damselfly and Flybaby come over, as soon as Fly picks up one of Kiddo's toys, he screams, "MY (insert name of toy here" and screams until Fly eventually puts it down.
I am clueless what to do. I'm sure someday he'll get the hang of taking turns!
lol taking turns is always good when it is convenient. Do you know, in all of the years I've lived in Denver we've never once gone to Casa Bonita??? I smell a field trip coming on!
How funny.. with the cucumber. You are not raising a dummy that's for sure.
My boys love going to Casa Bonita and seeing the cliff diving, and I love the sopapillas (sp?) so it's a perfect combo! Maybe we will go the next time they are out of school.
Kids are so annoyingly clever sometimes. :)
Kids will be kids ...
Enjoy your chocolate :) !!
"Taking Turns" heh, heh, heh...I love Hadley.
Isn't it nice to know they listen ; )
Glad it was a great spring break.
