As we were piling into the car afterward to go to Grandma's, Jamie commented,
"I just want to warn you about something."
"Oh no. What?"
"I may be a little emotional today."
"Why?"
"Wellllllll, first my little girl is turning five."
"Yeah right, whatever. What's the real reason?"
"My back-up pumpkin plant is running into my main one. I will have to kill it today."

those pumpkins! Just as important as his "little pumpkin" - cracks me up. Hopw the main one does well...
LOL! Such a boy.
WHEN am I going to learn to click over to you ONLY when there is no coffee in my mouth!?
Oh man I don't know what I was expecting him to say but that definetly was not it.
That IS an emotional thing.
awww... poor jamie. something we can all relate too, right? =)
Oh Good Gravy! Nice try at a save by mentioning the daughter though.
My mom has that same plate. :)
LOL - it looks like some kind of alien cam in your pumpkin patch.
After you told me about your husband's blog dedicated to the "great pumpkin",
this doesn't surprise me. Really funny, I can relate totally. Like the song says, "you gotta be cruel to be kind" ( I am referring to thinning here.)
At least he mentioned your daughter first. :)
OHHHHHH! You guys crack me up!
sooo....that's your backyard, eh.
:)
See our house on the other side of the fence with the playset? That is our house. Our neighbor has insanely/generously let Jamie grow pumpkins on his big lot.
Wow. There better be LOTS of pumpkin pie in this in the end for your neighbor!
The truth is out!
By the way, that is quite the setup there. I guess the row covers help the pumpkins grow so big.
Hilarious. I don't ever look at pumpkins anymore without thinking of Jamie.
