Bode
While Hadley was at art camp last week, Bode and I bonded a lot. I haven't spent copious amounts of one-on-one time with him since he started preschool so it was an eye-opening experience.
On Wednesday, he started T-ball with his bestie Seanie.

And yes, greater lover hath no mom than she who enrolls her son in a sport that bores her to tears.
Bode has always been sweet, thoughtful and loving but he is going through a phase that is driving us nuts: he is lazy. The little dude has the same excuse for everything.
"Bode, go wash your hands."
"I'm too tired."
"Bode, I asked you to finish your smoothie."
"I'm too tired."
He has always been a lot more shy than his sister but usually rises to the challenge and delves into new situations with her. Without his wingman, he completely reverted back to being much more introverted and often begged me to just take him home.
Evidently everyone needs a Type A, brazen, man-hating older sister around (see yesterday's post for details).

In tomorrow' Week of the Family, I am featuring the Lord of the Gourds who committed the ultimate fashion faux-pas: he dared to criticize his wife's outfit.

OHMYGOSH. That picture of Bode and his buddy is just the cutest!
What a fun idea to individually spotlight everyone in your family. I often overlook certain members on my blog. Not because they're not wonderful but it's just certain people are more dramatic than others. :-)
Ooooop. That was Shelly, BTW!
So true. Hadley is a bit of spotlight hog and her antics keep us hopping (both good and bad). Sometimes the sweet ones don't produce as much blog fodder. :)
I like the idea of your son having a wingman. Er, wingwoman.
I know what you mean about the fodder ;-)
That's my 7 year old, which is crazy, because she is in gymnastics and works out 3 times a week at the gym. I know that would give her a excuse but she's never tired for fun stuff.
Good point. Most kids are never tired for fun stuff!
I think most little brothers with outgoing big sisters end up shy because they don't have to be outgoing, someone will do it for them. My brother has two outgoing older sisters and ended up very shy until we grew up and moved out of the house.
It is so funny how different your children can be. I can only imagine when one is a girl and one is a boy. I have 2 boys. One crazy outgoing-in-your-face-will-u-b-my-friend, and the younger, far more timid and (shocking!!!) a mama's boy. I love to see them grow into individuals, instead of just a mini-me!
Amen! How boring would it be if they were exactly alike. It's just sometimes it cracks me up re: how different they really are. :)
Such a doll. He's just like my son and they'd either get along great or never muster up the nerve to talk to each other. :)
I am very proud of you. It is so true...your love is great to sit through T-ball. All of my boys dug in dirt piles and picked at the weeds in the outfield while I thought to myself, "Here's another hour I will never get back."
Bode is so dang cute and that picture of him with bestie Seanie is awesome.
