Nice interview from back in February. Are you still in touch with Bonnie? Does she and her family still live in the Midwest? We may need her help if she's willing. Here's the story...

Me and a bunch of my friends are in the middle of watching the National Finals of the Woman's Flat Track Roller Derby Tournament in Chicago (www.uproaronthelakeshore.com). Our local Mid-West girls are getting clobbered by the West and East coast teams. They could really use a clinic or training help.

I am not directly involved with the league but would like to help in raising the bar with our hometown team however I can.

Bonnie's teammate in 1994 Olympian Chantal (Bailey) Cermak is my speedskating coach and those two have an interesting history as they were classmates in Champaign.

Additionally, I was so pleased that she has not pushed her kids into speedskating and let them explore. Awesome example for any parent.

How awesome!! I remember watching her skate and feeling exhilarated and a bit terrified at how fast she went. I love that she's not pushing her kids into her sport... that she's letting them find what they love!
